Nanette V. Hucknall is a recognized authority on relationships, healing psychological wounds, overcoming obstacles and self-empowerment. She is an award-winning author, teacher, trained therapist, career counselor and painter. Through her books, classes, lectures, and retreats, she has deepened the lives of hundreds of spiritual practitioners.
Nanette Hucknall has spent a lifetime studying spirituality and psychology, and in turn, using what she has learned to help others on their personal journey. She has been a teacher, writer, therapist, career counselor, and painter.
Thirty years ago she combined the wisdom and insights of her own spiritual path by developing the teaching of Higher Self Yoga. The concept of the Higher Self—the part inside each person that connects with the Source or God within—is a spiritual tradition that dates back thousands of years. The key difference with Higher Self Yoga is the added psychological approach to overcoming the inner obstacles that keep people from their higher nature and growing spiritually.
Nanette has developed many Higher Self Yoga classes and retreats in North America and Europe, and a series of books on related topics that include illustrative stories and exercises to make the teaching come alive. Along with Dr. Judith Bach, Nanette has designed and facilitated spiritual and psychological workshops in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
Before introducing Higher Self Yoga, Nanette studied Agni Yoga for many years and is trained in Psychosynthesis.
She is the Founder and President Emeritus of Higher Self Yoga, Inc. Nanette holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Cooper Union and was for many years an Art Director in New York City.
She lives in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts.
