What is Higher Self Meditation?

Higher Self Meditation is a system of meditation that makes the connection to the Higher Self, or the inner self, the primary aim of the meditative practice. By turning our attention inward, and learning to connect with the Higher Self, we gain access to a continuous source of wisdom, insight, and guidance that is available to each of us.

The Higher Self is the part of us that is not lost in the temporary concerns of the ego or the distractions of the everyday. It is the essence of who we are beyond our surface personalities, beyond our habits and patterns, beyond the stories and beliefs we have formed over a lifetime. It can be thought of as the voice of our authentic selves, our truest values, and our deepest aspirations.

What’s the Difference Between Higher Self Meditation and Regular Meditation?

While all forms of meditation can be beneficial, Higher Self Meditation is unique in that it aims to develop a continuous, conscious connection with the Higher Self – not just in meditation, but in all aspects of daily life.  

Regular meditation, such as mindfulness or concentration-based practices, trains the mind to be present and focused, which can be incredibly beneficial for reducing stress and improving well-being. But Higher Self Meditation takes the practice one step further, using the meditative state as a platform to develop a relationship with the inner self.  

Through this practice, we learn to recognize the voice of our Higher Self in our daily lives, helping us make choices that are truly aligned with who we are and what we value. This leads to a life that is more meaningful, fulfilling, and authentic.

Another form of Higher Self Meditation involves reflective exercises. These might include journaling, creative visualization, or contemplation. Through these exercises, you can begin to explore the different aspects of your Higher Self and understand more deeply the unique individual you are.
